Loudly isn't picking up any sound
Make sure you've granted microphone permission. Go to Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone and ensure Loudly is toggled on. If it was already on, try toggling it off and on again, then reopen the app.
The readings don't seem accurate
iPhone microphones are consumer-grade and may differ from professional equipment. Use the calibration feature in Settings to adjust the offset. For best results, calibrate against a known reference sound or a professional meter. Keep your finger away from the microphone opening during measurements.
How do I restore my Pro purchase?
Loudly Pro is a one-time purchase tied to your Apple ID. If you reinstall the app or switch devices, open Loudly, go to the Pro upgrade screen, and tap "Restore Purchases." Make sure you're signed in with the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.
What are frequency weightings (A, C, Linear)?
Frequency weightings filter sound to match how humans perceive loudness. A-weighting (dBA) is the most common and best for general noise measurement. C-weighting (dBC) is better for loud, low-frequency sounds like music or machinery. Linear (dBZ) applies no filtering and shows the raw sound level.
The app won't open or crashes
Try force-quitting the app and reopening it. If the issue persists, restart your device. Make sure you're running the latest version of Loudly from the App Store. If nothing works, please email us with your device model and iOS version.
